Know what to expect, so you can move forward
If you’re considering genomic testing, you may be wondering how much time it may take to get your results, so you can start making treatment decisions with your doctor. Listed below are some key milestones to feel informed and confident about what’s ahead.
Our testing process
Here are the five basic steps of our process to keep in mind:
Step 1 Talk to your doctor
You and your doctor talk about Gliolab genomic testing for glioblastoma together. Your doctor places the order for your Gliolab test, so that you can learn more about your tumor.
Step 2 Collect a sample
Next, your doctors sends a tissue sample to Gliolab for testing. You may already have a tissue sample available, or a new biopsy may be required. Your tissue samples are sent to Gliolab for testing. Sample instructions are listed on the “For Providers” page and the “Order A Test” page.
Step 3 have your sample analyzed in our lab
Gliolab analyzes your tumor sample to ensure you receive the correct diagnosis, along with actionable molecular classification and copy number changes to guide treatment selection.
Step 4 receive your results
Your Gliolab test results are made available securely to your Provider. Your provider can review the molecular findings together with your pathology report, imaging, and clinical history to guide your treatment based on your tumor type.
Step 5 Get started on Your Treatment Plan
Your Gliolab test results are made available securely to your Provider. Your provider can review the molecular findings together with your pathology report, imaging, and clinical history to guide your treatment based on your tumor type.
